This is coming a day late but i have to write about yesterday's adventures. Okay, so call me crazy but I've been looking forward to yesterday for months, but not for the reason you may think. Every single time i look at the clock in the past like, year, it's always been 10:19. So i figured something really special was supposed to happen on October 19th in my life. looking back, i'll be honest, it was just another day of me feeling extremely blessed but it was one of the best 10/19s i've had so far... complete with sunflowers and peanut butter balls! (NO oct. 19 is complete without those...)
My wonderful family flew into town Wednesday night. They came and toured my school on thursday, we had a photo shoot in the giant chair, you know, all the things you do with your family. They all look so good, Staci's pregnant and SO beautiful, her family is doing very well, my parents look happy and brian is a stud. It makes me miss Pres. anyway, i've had to work so i don't get to tour with them but it's been amazing in the evenings going to dinner and all.
So yesterday started out bright and early with us jumping on the metro at 6:45 and going to the White House. I got to eat breakfast in the West Wing of the White House!!! It was incredible, my dad's friend had a friend who works there and she got us into the the Mess Hall to eat a delicoius breakfast amongst White House staff. The room we were in bordered the Oval Office where the President was that morning. (there sure are a lot of words to capitalize...) The pictures were amazing of the presidency and the places they've traveled, and we got a lot of strage stares... people just aren't used to seeing families, let alone babies, cruising the halls of the lower west wing. We got chased by the secret service out of the Rose Garden, we got to snap a couple pictures with the marine, it was a successful outing.
school was, needless to say, a bit disappointing when they failed the test i gave them but we won't dwell on that one.
AFTER school, i got home to flowers from Utah, the DVD gremilins (right on), cards from friends and family, and various gifts from completely thoughtful roommates who i don't feel deserving of. AND my parents got me the best gift of all for a girl who constantly gets lost... they know me too well. They are incredible. I just felt really loved... people are too good to me. my parents ordered Cali Pizza Kitchen for everyone and we partied here till all hours of the night. I met some pretty sweet people too. Leave it up to my cute roommates to invite amazing people over for cake and ice cream :)
Thank you, everyone, so much for making me feel so special. i know that sounds really juvenile but i do, i feel blessed. Thanks for thinking of me and calling and sending e-cards, haha, birthdays rule.
I'm off to check out Arlington Cemetary this morning with my cute nephew and the rest of the fam. Check you.
